Happy Springtime!!! It is hard to believe we are almost a quarter into the new year. Quality Promotions has been very busy working on reacclimating to the new home office environment. 2009 went by quickly leaving significant highlights, especially for the Hutto Education Foundation. HEF raised over 41K and presented the first grants to HISD schools. I was honored with the Hutto Citizen/Volunteer of the Year. I would like to say, it could not have been done without the dedication and hard work of our volunteers. I really appreciate everyone's contributions, whether treasure, time or talent. Carlos and I will continue to support the HEF, and are here to support the Hutto community any way we can. For 2010, we determined our goal to be getting connected and making and capturing memories.... no matter how small. Since our last update, we helped host Hutto Education Foundation's Second Annual Wine Tasting at the beautiful home of Mike and Donna Fowler on October 11th. Many thanks to those who stopped by and participated. It was perfect, despite the weather. See HEF Wine Tasting photo gallery. We also helped promote Hutto's very first Meet the Hippos Night. That's right....Meet the Hippos! We got to preview all the wonderful students who participate in all clubs and organizations in Hutto. Many thanks to Mr. Lunoff and Cindy Higginbothams for helping coordinate and support Hutto Education Foundations mission for the event. Our biggest success for the year is finally getting to be part of the Hutto Education Foundation Grant Awards!! HEF gave out over $8100 in grants to Hutto schools on November 2nd. Lucky schools were Ray Elementary, Hutto Middle School and Hutto High School. See HEF Grant Awards photo gallery. Hutto Lion's Club has been very busy and growing! They are revitalizing the downtown Christmas Decorations and proving a means for raising funds for the food pantry through angel donations! For more information on getting involved in the Hutto Lion's Club mission, stop by meetings held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. The Hutto Education Foundation is currently planning their very first gala. MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW! The first gala takes place on March 26, 2010 at the beautiful Star Ranch Golf Club. Plans are underway and much help is needed to make it a terrific success. It is a first for Hutto, and the only event like it in the area! See link for more details. FESTIVAL September 5, 2009, Craft & Trade Bazaar - We are still working on finding a new location, but for now will keep it at same location. Updates will be posted on Craft Bazaar Page. October 30, 2009, Meet the Hippos Night - This event will hopefully engage the community and show support for Hutto High Shool. See powerpoint presentation for more details. Goody Bags QP will be delivering goody bags to teachers at H.I.S.D. along with an HEF poster with the school calendar. This is a free service, courtesy of Quality Promotions to welcome teachers back to school and offer special deals from the community. Anyone interested in providing contents can do so at no charge. They will be presented to 655 teachers the week of Labor Day. If interested, please either drop your business cards, sales, pens, koozies, etc. We will be assembling on September 2nd. HEF Posters We will also be providing teachers with a school wall poster with the school calendar. Proceeds from this calendar will benefit the Hutto Education Foundation. This will be a great way to have your business in front of teachers all year long. We will be printing 1500 copies. Posters will be handed out to teachers and balance donated to HEF to be handed out at Meet the Hippos Night. See Poster Opportunities for more details.
